Does basestep file my tax return?
No, deliberately not. You file yourself through Mijn Belastingdienst Zakelijk (the Dutch tax authority portal for businesses); we prepare every field for you and explain it. That way you stay in charge of your own business.
Can I keep my bookkeeper?
You keep them if you want. The platform explains every box of the return and provides an accountant export. With stock, foreign income, rental, more than one business, a complex car situation, exempt supplies or the margin scheme, we actually refer you to an adviser.
Can I cancel monthly?
Paying is not possible yet: the paid plans will be available to order soon. Once you can order, the monthly plans can be cancelled monthly.
What if basestep stops?
Then you export your bookkeeping: invoices, journal, ledger and the XAF audit file. You keep your receipts yourself, because the platform does not store files. Data ownership is a design principle, not a promise after the fact.
